Seobok is a top-notch sci-fi action melodrama movie with deep philosophical questions about the purpose of life and death. The two contrasting protagonist characters learn from each other and eventually grow to accept their individual purpose of life and how to overcome the fear of death when is mortal and the desire to die when is immortal. Just amazing how a well-made, well-acted, and well-directed movie can touch one’s soul.
Check out some remarkable lines from the Seobok movie below.
People are so easily scared, aren’t they? And greedy as well.
Humans are the only species that are aware of their own inevitable mortality and are afraid of it. That very fear of knowing that life someday will end is what makes them pursue a meaning of life.
Immortality will produce unsatisfiable desires and continues conflicts.
If people become immortal, mankind will lead itself to extinction.
Do you think dying is really like sleeping? Then how come people aren’t afraid of falling asleep? It’s like dying for a while.
It scares me to think of dying but living forever is scary too.
No matter how scared you are, you can never run away.
